Happy New Year!

I'm busy getting back to business after my holiday hiatus! My hubby and I had lots of fun hanging with the family and escaping to our get-away-by-the ocean for our anniversary. I'll be headed to Laguna Beach for another trip mid-January but other than that I'll be working hard!

We'll be adding new aprons & dish gloves in the coming weeks as well as some more ponytail totes and other new items to our shop so be sure and stop by!

I've been getting lots of wholesale inquiries and am working on an official mini-line of aprons and dish gloves so if you're interested give me a shout.

Happy Holidays

Poor, poor blog! I haven't posted much lately but I'll be back in the swing soon. With the passing of my mom-in-law on Thanksgiving and the quick arrival of Christmas I've definitely fallen behind!

I did actually get my Christmas cards out last week and I even found the time to make 25 batches of homemade turtle candies this year but I'm not sure how I did it!

In between all the holiday hustle I've been working on lots of new designs for '08 and I'm also working on plans for expanding (retail? maybe!). It's going to be a busy year!

Thanks for all your support in '07 and Happy Holidays!

I Heart Seattle In The Fall

I love the fall. Don't get me wrong... a nice summer day in the Northwest is nothing to turn your nose up at, but ... fall makes me feel cozy and warm inside. And for a self-professed hat and scarf freak I wait all summer to pull out my huge collection.

The other day my sister and I spent the day walking around Greenwood, in the rain, out shopping for fall accessories and filling up with the best Gyros this side of Greece at, where else, Mr Gyros! If you're ever in North Seattle and have a yearning, this tiny gyro factory is the bomb. Tzatziki, lamb, hummus - yummus. Not to mention the gaggle of Greek brothers behind the counter (nice).

In between stuffing our faces and sloshing into antique stores I managed to buy a cute new hat at our favorite boutique Tweed and found a fun store called Insurrection Vintage with a secret stash of vintage fabrics. A few+ bucks later this nifty stash of vintage 1950's fabric was mine!

I've been working on a fun new men's apron design and I think this little blast from the past will give it a lot of pizzaz. I hope to list it in my shop today or tomorrow so check back!

Use Your Imagination...

I've been working on a new line of children's aprons and will be listing some new little cuties in my shop on Wednesday.

I love making things for little girls and these new designs are inspired by my sweet little niece Estella....

I will also be adding some cute designs for boys aprons too, inspired of course, by Estella's twin brother Roman. Did I mention that they're two? Just imagine...

New Dish Gloves & Aprons

I've been super busy taking snapshots of all my new items! Soon I'll be posting a whole slew of new dishgloves, and, by popular demand, I have also created a few matching aprons. I must say the sets turned out very June Cleaver Cute!

I had limited fabric this go around so check them out quick!

Roll'n On

Well I'm finally getting rolling after taking a couple of months to focus on personal stuff. 'Wowza'...I have been busy. I really appreciate the patience of everyone who has inquired as to where all my stuff has gone.

My hiatus lasted so much longer than I thought it would but for good cause. With much sadness I will tell you that my mother-in-law has been declining from terminal cancer and my husband and I have been spending much of our time traveling every week to be with her. Life is definitely too short to worry about working all the time.

Now as I'm getting back to business again I hope to make posts in my new blog on a more steady basis, so check back for new product info and other tidbits.

Thank you!

Our New Blog

As you may have seen from the posting in my Etsy shop I have been taking quite a few weeks off to complete a laundry list of personal projects as well as the reorganization and expansion of my tiny little studio (which won't be as tiny when I'm done with it!)

One of my big projects was to update the Busy B Designs website and also start a new blog....which I am happy to say can be checked off the list!

During this time my hubby and I have been settling in nicely at our new "home away from home"... a small vacation house near the Puget Sound. It's quite a task to move into a space that you aren't living in full time...what to bring, what stays, what travels back and forth....aghh!

One of the nicest things about it (I must admit) is the fact that we have no computer or internet access. This brings me to my apology for all the unanswered emails of late. :)

I'll be adding more posts as I rev-up and get back to business. In the meantime enjoy the rest of your summer!
